A girl finds herself becoming friends with a zombie.
An interesting twist to the zombie genre. This film is well made; the locations are good and the characters are believable. There is a good mix of comedy and drama. I recommend anyone to watch this film to get away from the endless cheap zombie films around at the moment.
The story is told from the point of view of a zombie (Nicholas Hoult) as he narrates his way through the first few moments of the film and then at sporadic points thereafter. It shows a how zombies interact with each other, how they attack and eat humans and what they become when they lose 'hope'. It is also a romance, but don't let that put you off. There is none of the usual RomCom behaviour in this film.
The film's location are typical of a world that has changed and is well photographed with the usual helping of graphics. The direction, it seems, was economical in what the director wanted to achieve from his actors, but overall the performances are not too overstated. The idea is simple, but the storyline doesn't get boring.
I recommend you watch this film with your teenage family or with friends.
